FAQs: What to expect

In Ontario, you do not need a doctor’s referral to see a registered physiotherapist, registered massage therapist or registered acupuncturist. However, some insurance companies and benefit plans may require a letter from your doctor. If this is the case, you are still able to begin treatment before you obtain your referral.

Please feel free to contact us should you have any further questions or need assistance.
YES WE DO! At Generations Physiotherapy Centre, we try to take the added stress of billing off your hands. We bill directly to most insurers. Please feel free to contact us to inquire about yours.

For companies that do not allow us to bill directly, we always provide a detailed receipt with all the information required for you to submit to your insurance provider.
Generations Physiotherapy Centre is a private physiotherapy facility. As a result, we are not OHIP funded and cannot bill treatments through OHIP.
We typically suggest wearing comfortable clothes which allow the therapist access to your area of concern. Shorts are appropriate for assessing and treating hips, knees, and ankles. A t-shirt would be suitable for assessing and treating shoulders, elbows, and wrists. If you are uncertain what to wear, feel free to contact us prior to your appointment; and if you forget, don’t worry! We have lovely disposable shorts available upon request.
Absolutely! You always have the right to choose what clinic you go to and what therapist you see.
